Had class 5 on 'discipline'...
There is a rule when it comes to foster children, no spanking. None.
Its a rule I FULLY understand and think is correct. Some of these children have been beat as a normal process. A punishment that involves physical discipline is not good at all.
However what I don't like is the vibe of these classes where ALL physical discipline is bad.
My wife and I do use physical punishment on occasion. Not an exorbitant amount, but it isn't out of the question. But we've really learned that past 3 or 4 a spanking really loses a lot of its effectiveness. Actual reality based punishments are more effective (no TV, PC, etc...). But I was a tad annoyed by the vibe that ALL physical punishment is bad.
