Class four was about Attachment, Separation, and Placement.
This class was the best by far (at least for me). This is something that my wife and I have a little concern about when it comes to our first adopted child. When he gets older how is he going to deal with the separation that exists in his life? The spectrum of what could be is huge. He could feel happy and blessed for what he has been given, or he could feel robbed by God.
Initially we went over the process of what forms trust and attachment.
Now this was set to the idea of a child, but I don't see where this cycle doesn't apply to any age of person in a relationship.
Next we went over the grieving process.
Now with all of this being said, the part that meant the most to me was a video we watched.
If there was anything I could say or do to emphasize the need for good folks to be in this process, this video says it for me.
Its not short (19 minutes). It is very simple. It is emotional.
