Class three was: "Abuse and Neglect and the Impact on Child Development"
This, as the title says goes over the child development process and how neglect and abuse can affect it. One of the activities had us take 16 development items and classify it into different age categories (0-2, 3-5, 6-10, 11-14, 15-18). Was interesting to put that into perspective.
Then we watched an Oprah video, Scared Silent. Basically showing how dysfunction breeds dysfunction. A women had killed her son due to abuse, after living a life of abuse from her dad. She and her brother had done an exercise and they were able to track back 130 years worth of abuse.
Pretty wild really.
People that abuse children should be tarred and feathered.
