No
matter how you count it, that is how long it has been since our
adoption of Collin was finalized. This is a great day for us.
I
thank God often for the son he sent me. I had 2 of my own flesh and
blood, but God must have felt that I needed another. I would recommend
the adoption process for ANY able bodied Christian. It is an experience
that is really unmatched. To know that you have been used by God to
change a life is an amazing thing to go through. Bringing Collin into
my life has changed it so much for the better.
During the first week it caused me to pray a prayer to God that would eventually turn my church life upside down.
- It showed me that there are people out there who have hearts bigger then anybody could imagine.
- It showed me how God connects the puzzle pieces in our life. A
friend that I knew from my first church ended up being an instrumental
part of this process, in many ways because God put it on my heart to
care about this person.
- It made me trust in Him more then trusting in me.
- It allows me to be to Collin what nobody was to me, a dad.
I love my days coming home as Collin comes running and squeals, "Hi
Daddy!!!" and gives me the greatest hug. The joy he has is such a
contrast to the beat up and neglected child that arrived at our home.
I missed much of my first three children's life due to working in a
factory setting, this has allowed me the joy of experiencing a really
fun age and connect with my child at such a forming age.
God is great, and I'm humbled to be His servant.
