Barack Obama and the Special Olympics

03.24.09

imageSo by now we’ve all seen the clip or heard about the comment Barack Obama made on the Jay Leno show.

When asked about his bowling he compared it to the special Olympics.

One word.  IDIOT.

Really had Bush said something like this he would have been skewered by the press and rightfully so.   This guy needs to learn to shut up.  To be known as an eloquent man with his words he sure does have the foot in mouth disease.

I honestly don’t consider him a great speech giver.  I’ve heard many sermons and speeches and none of his have been near as good as what I’ve heard.  He stutters and ‘ums’ his way through most of his speeches.

So what’s up with the picture to the left?  I’ve been on the internet since its early popularity, or as a friend recently put it.. “I was blogging before blogging was cool.”  So I’ve seen the image to the left brought up many times but I’ve never used it because its classless.  There are certain people that should be off limits to stuff like this and these kids are number one.  Yet our commander in chief is to stupid to recognize that?

I read a blog about it that I think really puts it in focus.  He doesn’t value life.  He is the most pro-choice president in some time (ever?) and honestly if one of his children, or his wife, were stuck with this kind of child…. they’d abort the child.

Bravo President Obama, bravo.

The Good Samaritan

03.17.09

March 17, 2009 03:00 by ckincincy

The Good Samaritan is a parable from the Bible that talks about a man that was beat and robbed by some other men.  Then a priest and a levite, two ‘good’ men from the day walked by without helping.  Then a Samaritan, a low life from the time period came by and helped the man.

Tonight I was watching an ABC Special: What Would You Do?  In which they made up certain bad situations to see how people would react.  There was a part that hit this issue direct on.  Very humbling really.  The part I reference starts at 3:47.

Me and a co-worker...

12.28.08

December 28, 2008 03:00 by ckincincy

So at work, me and a co-worker have earned the nick name, Tom & Jerry.  We 'battle' quite a bit.

So I watch the TV show Numb3rs every week, and a recent episode had a nice similarity to me and my co-worker.

Should start at 3 minutes and 15 seconds, if not... that's where it starts.

What a game

DSCN1341

That was one heck of a game.  I am so glad that the Giant's won.  The Patriots just come across so arrogant, so it was good to see them prevented from going 19-0.

Went and watched the game at a fellow BCC members house, was a good crowd... a few Dallas fan's protested and played Guitar Hero.  Now this is where it got a bit odd... I guess a few decided to see what style points they could get and were jumping on furniture while they were playing.  Ended up with on person on crutches!!! Heard a pop in her knee, I guess we will see how bad that turns out to be.

But it was by far the most exciting game I remember since the 1988 Bengals/49ers game.

Clash of the Choirs - Go Cincy

12.22.07

December 22, 2007 06:00 by ckincincy

Well its official, Cincinnati won the clash of the choirs.  It is kind of cool knowing I knew one of the inspirational stories about this team first hand. The Underwood's, pictured to the left, are a great family.  I am really glad that Kathy got to see all of this first hand, and I really hope that this helped bring Will and Arielle together a bit closer.

This was a once in a life time experience for them, and with Kathy's illness there is really no telling what the future holds for them.

The picture to the left was taken back in June of 2004 at a going away part for another family in the Cincinnati Church of Christ that was moving away.  I saw the Underwood family about a year and a half or so, as the CCoC was arranging meals and I volunteered to take on their way.  And I'll say it here, this couldn't have happen to a better family.  I also say they'd be a great option for the Extreme Makeover as well!

Clash of The Choirs

12.17.07

December 17, 2007 20:10 by ckincincy

So today I get an IM from my former boss, whom I met at my first church.  Telling me that some mutual friends from that church are on NBC's Clash of The Choirs!

They are on Nick Lachey's 'team', who is a Cincinnati boy.

It is Will and Arielle Underwood (father/daughter).  I have actually blogged about Arielle in the past, on a former blog.  She at one point made a trip to Hollywood with American Idol. She never made it on TV though.

I've heard her sing once before in the front of our former church, but the quality was a bit broken... it was on a Mother's day in which she was singing a song to her mom who was at the time fighting cancer, and is really still fighting it.

The Underwood's have always held a special place in my heart and I hope they do well on the contest as they certainly have a 'made for TV' family life.

Good Luck Guys!!

Funny commercial

11.24.07

November 24, 2007 06:00 by ckincincy

I love commercials.  This commercial was for FedEx, and I love the stereotyping it does.  Now the funny part is, that when this came out the office I worked at could have fit a few of these folks!

A prediction

09.18.07

September 18, 2007 23:23 by ckincincy

As I've mentioned on this blog many times, I'm a HUGE tv fan.  Love my DVR, lets me watch shows on my time and not when the networks tell me to.  But today is the last episode of Big Brother Eight.  I am predicting now that Evel Dick will win over his daughter Daniele.

I've actually really enjoyed this year's show, my wife not so much.  But as a Christian I have been ashamed!  Two of the contestants are 'committed Christians" and it seems their words are censored more than most of the non-Christians.  That's why my favorite player is what I call the non-Christian version of me, Evel Dick.  If you take his language and clean it up and drop the cigarettes, I think you may have me.  Told people how it was, whether they wanted to hear it or not.  Only once did he go back on his word and that was near the end when eventually you either play or get played.  Took two players out at 5 and 6 instead of taking them to the final 4.

Now a great underlying story in this was he and his daughter.  The twist on this season was that some of the house guest had 'enemies' in the house.  Dick and Daniele had not talked for several years before the show.  Over the course of three months they have reconnected and hopefully it will continue outside of the house.  Hopefully then get some counseling to deal with what they need to deal with, but it is ALWAYS a joy to see a family reunited.  I couldn't imagine not talking to my girl for a few years.  She is certainly a daddy's girl and that may be what draws me to liking ED so much.

But I predict that ED will beat his daughter by a unanimous vote.  Not counting America's vote because they are a bit unpredictable.   But the evil guy always wins in these shows when they make it to the final two.  From Survivor to Big Brother, if you play dirty and make it that far... people will vote for you.

TV online

04.3.07

April 3, 2007 22:54 by ckincincy

I'm a TV buff. Love watching all kinds of shows. Due to the national championship game I couldn't DVR the latest episode of 24. I was bummed, but quickly overcame that because I know that Fox is one of the smart networks and allows me to watch the latest episode online!

So I sit here on my dual monitor setup, typing this on one monitor and watching the latest episode online.

So cool!
